Regardless of the colour, here are our top 5 tips to care for colour treated hair & keep it looking healthy:

1. SHAMPOO LESS

It's simple - the more you shampoo, the more it fades. Skip the everyday wash and change it to only twice or 3 times a week and when you do, make sure you use a colour fast shampoo for colour treated hair.

 

​2. CONDITION, CONDITION, CONDITION

Coloured hair is more fragile, so for the first few weeks skip the shampoo and go straight to conditioner at least once. Now is also the time to make sure to include hair masks and treatments in your weekly hair care routine. This will protect your tresses from damage and keep your hair looking shiny.

 

3. AVOID SWIMMING

Coloured hair and both salt water and chlorine do not get on at all. They can strip or alter your colour. If ever you do end up swimming, make sure not to stay too long in the pool, and wash and dry your hair immediately.

 

4. LESS HEAT

The first days or weeks post-colouring, avoid heat as much as you can, whether it’s from direct sunlight, blow dryers, styling wands or hot water. Heat will make your hair dye fade faster and excessive heat can damage your hair.

 

5. COLOUR ONE STEP @ A TIME

Particularly if you’re making a dramatic colour change, don't do it all at once. Take it one step at a  time and do it in 2 or 3 steps rather than just the one. Trust us, your hair will love you for it.
